Securing the advanced reactor fleet
Physical protection accounts for a significant portion of a nuclear power plant’s operational costs. As the U.S. moves toward smaller and safer advanced reactors, similar protection strategies could prove cost prohibitive. For tomorrow’s small modular reactors and microreactors, security costs must remain appropriate to the size of the reactor for economical operation.
Building a Stronger Voice.
Across the globe, dozens of Local sections are the backbone of ANS. They perform excellent work on behalf of nuclear professionals. All members are urged to join a Local Section or Plant Branch to build their network and to help serve the nuclear community through public education and outreach.
Find a Local Section or Plant Branch near you by using the map below.
If there isn't one near you, then learn how to start a Local Section.
To find out more information about the mission of local sections, awards, and more, go to the Local Sections Committee Website. To provide demographic and financial details for payments for your local section, please complete the Section Membership Payments form.
ANS Local Sections allow members to interact with other members and nuclear professionals to network and learn about relevant issues in their region.
ANS Plant Branches allow members to interact with other members and nuclear professionals to network and learn about relevant issues at their plant.
