In 2010, Mississippi Section of the
American Nuclear Society will award up to two Undergraduate Scholarships. This scholarship is being created for graduating Mississippi
high-school seniors or undergraduates who have enrolled, full-time, in college courses and are
pursuing science, mathematics and/or technical courses
with an interest in working in nuclear science and technology. Each award will be $1,000.
It is anticipated this will continue as an annual award.
The Scholarship(s) will be awarded based on
an applicant's academic achievement, extracurricular activities and
employment history, the quality and content of a 500-word essay about academic and
career goals, letters of recommendation by counselors and/or teachers, and
additional application information.
To apply for the Mississippi Section of the
ANS Undergraduate Scholarship, complete the special application form
and return it with appropriate documents to the Mississippi Section of the
American Nuclear Society contact by May 1.
Recipients will be notified by
May 31. The scholarship award will be sent to the recipient upon verification (a copy of the paid fee receipt) of
enrollment in an accredited university or college.
