Speaker: Mark Allen Linn, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Topic: Risk Informed and Performance Based Influences on Reactor Design – Past and Future
Mark will discuss advances in the use of risk based approaches to improve designs including some specific examples of successful applications. He will also discuss the ongoing ANS standardization efforts in this area. The presentation will be made via live online webcast..

 About the Speaker: Received Masters of Engineering in 1982 from University of Tennessee with specialty in risk and reliability analysis. Began career at the Tennessee Valley Authority in plant licensing and later moved to reliability to oversee PRAs on TVA plants. Moved to the ORNL in 1989 to work in nuclear safety and to oversee PRA studies and reliability improvements for the High Flux Isotope Reactor.
