Topic: Alternative Production of Mo99 without Use of Fission.

Speaker: Dr. Jim Harvey, Presentation will describe two alternative production routes to achieve domestic production of Mo99. Those routes are 1) neutron capture and 2) photon transmutation. Both routes use stable molybdenum target material and produce a EU Pharmacopeia compliant Mo99 that requires a new type of generator system to achieve high specific activity USP compliant Tc99m required by nuclear pharmacies. The new generator will be described during the presentation.
