The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a non-profit, international, scientific and educational organization committed to lead in the development, dissemination, and application of nuclear science and technology to benefit humanity. The Northern California (NorCal)\u00a0Local Section of the ANS was established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify and promote the professional activities within the diverse fields of nuclear science and technology in the San Francisco Bay Area. \u00a0Over the past several years, the NorCal Section has been very active in several key areas, being able to take advantage of numerous opportunities to provide education and public outreach, so the public can make informed decisions about nuclear energy.<\/p>\n
