Affiliated organizations

The Department of Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State University is one of the oldest nuclear engineering programs in the country. It boasts an active research reactor. It provides graduates with a well-rounded but industry-focused engineering degree.
The North Carolina Chapter of the Health Physics Society (NCHPS) is a professional organization dedicated to the development, dissemination and application of the scientific knowledge of and practical means for radiation protection. The objective of the Chapter is the protection of people and the environment of North Carolina from unnecessary exposure to sources of radiation.
The NC State ANS chapter gets students involved in the ANS early. They hold regular dinner meetings. Other activities involve outreach to local schools, social events, and department festivities.
The Triangle chapter of North American Young Generation in Nuclear helps people just getting into the nuclear industry find their feet. It is more focused on professional development of its members, but also does outreach and social activities.
The National American Nuclear Society is our parent organization. It was founded in the 1950s and continues to provide a means for acedemics and professionals to meet and advance nuclear technology.
