Michigan Section ANS Scholarship Program 2020

The Michigan Section ANS Scholarship Program is funded entirely by the Michigan Section ANS.  The Section funds its activities through dues, donations, and its general treasury.  Every 5 or 10 years the Section hosts a national meeting.  The profits from this activity fund the general treasury.  In addition, local nuclear-related corporations, such as DTE Energy and Entergy, have recently provided generous support to our non-profit charitable scholarship program.  This has allowed the MI-ANS to increase both the amount and number of scholarships potentially awarded each year.  At this time, the MI-ANS offers a $2000 Undergraduate Scholarship a $1000 Incoming Freshman Scholarship and a $1000 non-ABET / Community College.

All eligible (see below) Applicants will receive a complimentary Michigan ANS student membership for the following year (if the applicant is already a member, their next year's dues will be paid by MI-ANS).

A news release will be distributed to the local media in the winner's hometown, the winner's university paper, and Nuclear News.

The number of scholarships awarded in a particular year depend on the number and quality of applications received. The Michigan Section of the American Nuclear Society reserves the right not to award the scholarship in the event it feels none of the applicants are qualified.
