Dr. Craig Sawyer & Chuck Boardman
Topic: ABWR, ESBWR, and PRISM – Three Generations of General Electric Reactors
Bio: Dr. Sawyer holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been involved in BWR plant technology with exposure to virtually all aspects of plant performance, including advanced fuel element and core design studies, plant system performance studies, risk assessments, evaluations of proposed design changes, and transient and accident analyses.
Mr. Boardman led the GE Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor design team in the development and optimization of the Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor (ALMR) and the follow-on Super PRISM plant. He holds over thirteen patents related to the design of containments, decay heat removal, power generation, and sodium heated steam generators.
